The city we shape, shapes us.

The evening of Tuesday, May 4th, witnessed a lively conversation centered on Omaha – and the urban design, development and environmental issues expected to be most in focus over the coming four years. In now the third installation of a quadrennial tradition, the 2021 Omaha by Design Mayoral Forum was honored to feature the City of Omaha mayoral candidates – Mayor Jean Stothert and R.J. Neary – in a moderated forum highlighting each candidate’s vision for the city’s future.

The forum was moderated by David Levy, partner at Baird Holm and President of the Omaha by Design Board of Directors. Candidates were asked a series of questions prepared by the forum Non-Profit Partners, followed by select written questions from attendees.

Generously hosted once again by the Omaha Community Playhouse, the forum’s socially-distanced audience of 75 was multiplied many times over by the hundreds of viewers following along on the livestream.

For those who may have missed it, a recording of the evening’s full program is available below. We invite you to tune in and hear for yourself how each leader would guide our city going forward.

Special thanks to the candidates and to our amazing team of volunteers, Forum Sponsors and Non-Profit Partners – without whom the 2021 Mayoral Forum would not have been possible!
