OPEN OMAHA IS EVERYONE’S CHANCE TO CATCH A BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT THE FASCINATING SPACES THAT SHAPE OUR CITY.  

Over the weekend of August 5th – 6th, dozens of historic landmarks, creative spaces, sacred sites, and other hidden gems will open their doors in a city-wide showcase of the uniqueness that makes the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro such a marvelous place.  

Open Omaha is curated to inspire, built for all-ages, and FREE to attendees and hosts.

Inspired by similar concepts in cities like Denver, Minneapolis, and Chicago, Open Omaha was developed by the nonprofit Omaha by Design and launched in 2022. The inaugural event attracted over 6,000 unique visits to more than 50 venues spread across the metro.

Open Omaha is back for its second year, opening doors to even more amazing spaces.

Spread across more than 60 intriguing sites, Open Omaha invites you to EXPLORE YOUR CITY like never before. Most sites will be open from 10am-5pm each day.

Open Omaha is seeking friendly faces to join the metro’s best team of volunteers!

Volunteers duties include:
• Welcoming guests and providing event information
• Supporting venue staff as needed with queue management, etc
• Answering questions about Open Omaha

Perks of volunteering include:
• A behind-the-scenes look at some of the Omaha metro’s most unique places
• Open Omaha T-shirt (yours for attending a brief volunteer orientation)
• A Hardy Coffee Co. giftcard to keep you fueled up!
• The satisfaction of helping to inspire and connect our community

Open Omaha is set for Saturday, August 5th and Sunday, August 6th.

Two shifts are available each day. Select 9:30am-1:30pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm
